Did the update finish or did it display an error message? Check the log file administrator/logs/joomla_update.php.
Check all the third party extensions for compatibility with Joomla 5 from JED and the developer's website. For example, JCE v2.6.15 was released in 2017 and will have issues if run in Joomla 5.
The FPA shows also Joomla 3 templates that should have been deleted automatically, had the update finished properly. It is best to restore the full backup, taken before the update, into an empty folder and a new database schema, fix the $live_site variable and rerun the update.
